The concept

Draft the bracket before you play it.

The host brings an empty bracket, repeated name cards, and more short games than the board can hold. Each player gets several paths through the bracket.

Before the first matchup, everyone takes turns placing one card at a time. Put yourself beside a game you want, add a friend to a matchup already forming, or save a favorite game for a late junction.

What a draft pick can do

One card changes the day.

Field Day began in 2022 as a way to turn a collection of quick one-on-one games into one shared tournament.

2022The first Field Day established the drafted bracket at the center of the event.
2024–2025Two more events gave the bracket and game draft room to evolve.
